Movement for Life
When we think about it, each day begins and ends with movement. Our goal as massage therapists is to create through touch optimum movement within the tissues (muscles, fascia, skin, lymphatic system, etc). However, our goal is also to allow our clients the opportunity to desire optimum movement in their day to day life. We gladly show you options during your treatment that you can integrate in your routine.
It does not have to be a structured exercise class. Going for a walk and playing fetch with your furry companion daily, taking that extra far away parking spot, and a gentle stretch of all your joints in the morning is a great start. Here in Fredericton, New Brunswick, we have access to wonderful free options to enjoy movement. We have walking trails throughout the city, parks, great x-country ski/snow shoe trails, and two arenas that have indoor walking tracks; the UNB Currie Center and the Stepping Stone Senior Center have numerous programs for specific needs. And let’s not forget the swimming pools ;-). Have you considered asking a friend to join you in any of these activities?
Not a fan of social exercise…now a days there are also great online options to get you motivated. Have you tried an online stretching class? We suggest you look up Classical Stretch, beginner yoga, Pilates or even free weight classes through YouTube or an App on your smart device.
Which ever form of exercise you use, start today! Your body will thank you.
